NFL and MLB Players Appeared Together at Local High Schools to Speak on Character Education, Environmental Awareness and Careers in Sports. The NFL Alumni Association, Sportz Ventures, LLC and MLB’s We Play Green Foundation joined forces during Super Bowl week to host free educational presentations at local schools. These presentations were hosted by current and former professional athletes such as Tim Watson (Philadelphia Eagles), Chris Dickerson (Cincinnati Reds), Jack Cassel (Houston Astros and brother of Patriots QB, Matt Cassel) and others.

We Play Green is an environmental organization founded by Cincinnati Reds player Chris Dickerson and Houston Astros pitcher Jack Cassel. This is an organization focused on bringing professional athletes and students together to help inspire all communities into action. We Play Green will salute members of high school programs that are taking the initiative to bring about environmental awareness by featuring them on their website. To view all of the athletes on board and company information, visit www.weplaygreen.org.

Tim Watson, President of the NFL Alumni Association of Tampa Bay, used his NFL experience, academic distinctions as well as his training as a motivational speaker to present Principles of Success, a discussion focused on peer pressure, education, distorted portrayals of success and unrealistic media images.

Sportz Ventures provides schools with the ability to promote their athletic program, its athletes, and the work of their student body by providing them with a platform that highlights the successes of teams, players and coaches. Sportz Ventures works with students through their internship program to create a worthwhile experience, touching on sports journalism, photography, videography, broadcasting and even advertising sales. www.sportzventures.net
